Getting Started with Nudge Coaching

How to download Nudge Coach

  1. Go to “Play Store” or “App Store”.
  2. Tap in the search bar and type, “Nudge Coach”.
  3. Click on the first option, “Nudge Health Tracking”.
  4. Click “Install”.
  5. Wait for the download and installation to finish.
  6. When it is finished, click “Open”
  7. The home screen pops up and asks you to choose between two options, “I’m New” or “Sign in”
  8. If this is your first visit, click on “I’m New”.
  9. You can either sign in through Facebook, if you have that application installed on your phone or register for an account.
  10. Assuming you do not have a Facebook, enter in your “Name”, “Email” and a “Password” of your choosing.
  11. The “Next” button will light up orange when the required fields have been completed.
  12. Click “Next”.
  13. This will take you to the “Log” screen (look along the bottom and you will see “Log”, “Profile”, “Coach”, “Clubs”)

How to choose what to track with Nudge

  1. From the “Log” screen, click “Options” in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. A screen opens that says “Select only what you wish to track with Nudge.”
  3. Select all options: “Hydration”, “Nutrition”, “Activity”, “Sleep”, “Notes”, “Indulgences” and “Weight”.
  4. With each selection, a drop-down list will appear.
  5. Within each drop-down, select the items you wish to monitor.
  6. For example, within the “Hydration” drop-down, click on “Water”, “Coffee”. Etc. (select those liquids that you consume regularly).
  7. Complete that for all the options and drop-down lists.
  8. When complete, click on the “X” in the upper left-hand corner.

How to edit your Profile

  1. Click on “Profile” on the bottom row.
  2. In the upper left-hand corner, click on “Edit”.
  3. There, you may enter your name, email address, change password, etc.
  4. Choose your theme, gender, date of birth, units and height.
  5. When complete, click on the “X” in the upper left-hand corner.
  6. The “Profile” home screen will display a number in the center, which is a total score of your nutrition, sleep, activity and hydration.
  7. You will also see a “Friends” and “Synced Apps” section. Those will be discussed later.
  8. You may click on any of the four icons surrounding the score to see averages of the information you input

 

How to link with your Coach

  1. Click on “Coach” on the bottom row.
  2. You may enter a “Coaching Code” if you have been provided one.
  3. If no code has been provided, please contact us and we will manually add the client.
  4. Once the Coach has been added to the profile, you are ready to send and receive Nudges/messages.
  5. You may ask questions here as well.
  6. ALL MESSAGES ARE CONFIDENTIAL AND ABIDE BY HIPAA REGULATIONS.

How to Log in Hydration

  1. Click on “Log” on the bottom row.
  2. Under “Hydration”, click on “Water”.
  3. A popup will appear. Click the + or – signs depending on how much water you consumed. If you need help approximating how many servings you consumed, click on the “Servings Guide”. Record your intake appropriately. Click on the “check mark” when done.
  4. You are back at the “Log” home screen.
  5. Note: Ideally, you will use MyFitnessPal (another application) to log food and water. With your Fitbit device, exercise will be automatically uploaded into MyFitnessPal. All the information from MyFitnessPal will be uploaded into Nudge Coach.
  6. If you choose not to use MyFitnessPal, you may input Activity, Nutrition, Sleep and Weight manually into Nudge Coach. You will follow the same protocol as for Hydration and use the servings guide to help you.

How to Sync your Fitbit device into Nudge Coach

  1. Note: Before starting this section, be sure you’ve bought your Fitbit, downloaded the Fitbit application to your phone and have set up your device.
  2. Click on “Profile” on the bottom row.
  3. Click on “Synced Apps”.
  4. Scroll down to find “Fitbit” and click on it.
  5. A new screen will popup asking for permission to track sleep, Fitbit devices, etc.
  6. Click “Allow”.
  7. A popup will appear saying, “Success”. Click “OK”.
  8. You have now connected your Fitbit into Nudge Coach.
  9. With this feature, whatever your Fitbit tracks will be automatically uploaded into Nudge.
